I think we found one

So that everyone can keep in the loop I am updating the blog again. It is another Monday and we went to see a few more houses today and I think we picked one this time. First I will tell you about that two houses we saw that we don't plan to make an offer on.

The two houses that we were not too impressed by were in nice neighborhoods, but they lacked something once you were inside. One of them had a very open family/living/dining room and then a little hallway that went to the bedrooms and the rest of the house. This one was not kept up very well. The outside was nice and fairly well kept, but the inside had some problems. Many of them were minor problems like paint or the standard nail hole in the wall, but others were a little more severe like the water damage behind the sink in the kitchen. In the end we didn't stay too long in this house.

The other house I thought would have been nice, but I was a little deceived by the pictures. The outside of it was very nice, the color was a little obnoxious, but it was still nice. The inside didn't have a layout that I liked or could see myself living in without knocking out a wall. It was also a split floor plan which is a hard sell for Miriam. It is a shame that we didn't like it because it would have been walking distance to my friend Aaron's house.

The house we did like is very close to Mom and Dads house. It has been completely redone. The floors on the bottom floor were a wood laminate from what I could tell and there was new carpet upstairs. It comes with all new appliances, except for the disposal (it is old), and new counters and cabinets in the bathrooms. There was very little that we could see wrong with it. There was a little cleaning to do to it and we would want to add a pantry to the kitchen or near it, but that is it. We talked it over with Jill and we think we want to put an offer in on it. They are asking $139,900 and it is not a short sale. Tomorrow we are going to call our mortgage guy to tell him we think we found the right house and ask him a couple of questions about it. I took a video of it and I am going to try and chop it up so I can send it to you all and you can tell me what you think.
